See what it costs

Live watts and running cost, per appliance. The expensive one stops hiding.

Cut the hours

Timers and schedules switch things off when nobody needs them. Fewer running hours means fewer kilowatt-hours on the meter.

30 days to decide

If it doesn't earn its place in your home, send it back within 30 days of delivery.

The waste you never see

Every watt left drawing round the clock costs about 9 kWh a year. Standby load is commonly estimated at 5–10% of a household bill — and your statement never tells you which appliance is responsible.

How it saves

Favren reads draw at the socket and switches it off on your schedule. An appliance that ran 24 hours now runs six. The meter counts the difference, and so does your bill. Singapore's NEA lists energy monitoring devices and timers among the products that help reduce household energy use.

Favren vs a passive plug-in “saver”

Feature Favren Passive plug
Shows the actual watts an appliance draws Yes No
Reports running cost in dollars Yes No
Switches the appliance off on a schedule Yes No
Controlled from your phone while you’re out Yes No
Logs weekly and monthly history Yes No
No electrician, no rewiring Yes Yes

A passive plug has no meter and no switch. It cannot tell you what an appliance costs, and it cannot turn anything off.

Questions, answered straight

Will this lower my electricity bill?

It lowers the bill by cutting running hours, not by sitting in the wall. Set a schedule and the appliance draws power for fewer hours, so fewer kilowatt-hours reach the meter. Be suspicious of any plug that claims to save electricity while changing nothing about how your appliances run.

How much will I actually save?

That depends on what you find and what you change, so we won't invent a figure. The arithmetic is simple though: every watt drawing continuously costs roughly 9 kWh a year. Multiply by your tariff and you have your own number.

How accurate is it?

It measures at the socket rather than estimating, so what you see is what the appliance is actually pulling. Readings drift slightly at very low loads, which matters little when you're hunting for the big consumers.

Do I need Wi-Fi?

Yes, 2.4GHz. The plug switches manually without it, but live readings, history and scheduling all run through the app.

Can I leave it plugged in permanently?

That's the intended use. It logs continuously, so you build up weekly and monthly history for each appliance you're tracking.

What if it doesn't suit my home?

Return it within 30 days of delivery. Orders are processed in 3–7 days and delivered in 14–30 days, so the window opens when the parcel reaches you, not when you order.

Standby draw runs 24 hours a day and lands on every bill. Favren finds it, then switches it off.
